When should I start journaling

Writing a legacy journal is a quiet powerful way to capture the chapters of your life. A legacy journal is not meant to be written only in old age, where you find yourself saying “back in my day”, it is meant to grow alongside you through every stage. Your younger years filled with dreams, questionable decisions and unforgettable firsts, your adulthood shaped by responsibilities, relationships and resilience and in later seasons of life where reflection becomes deeper and gratitude feels louder

Personally, I really wish I had been journaling throughout every stage of my life – back when my memory served me better, when the stories were still fresh. Now….My memory is still good BUT….I will randomly remember something amazing from 20 years ago and then forget what I walked into a room for lol. I am also horrible at remembering specific dates …”was that 2008 or 2012??” The truth is, the older we get, the more memories start to feel like going through a messy junk drawer – full of pieces, treasures and random written notes, along with the occasional …””why did I keep this??” moment

Journaling along the way would certainly have been easier, capturing the little details that made life so rich: the conversations, the feelings, the funny moments, the hard lessons topped with the everyday chaos or the candle lit evenings that now feels like it flew by in the blink of an eye

There is no right or wrong way or time to get started. The important thing is that you do in a way that feels comfortable

Wishing you so much joy, inspiration and a few good laughs on your legacy journey
